City of Ember: Chapter 1

In chapter 1(Assignment Day, all the 12-year-olds (including Lina Mayfleet and Doon Harrow,) get assigned to jobs. Lina wants the job of a *messenger, and Doon wants a job to help save the "dying" city, like a *pipeworker, or an electrician's helper. But sadly, Lina got pipeworker and Doon got messenger. But they trade with hopes of success.

QUESTIONS-
What kind of job would you want? A fun job, like a messenger, or an important

one, like the pipeworks? Do you think they'll enjoy and/or succeed in their jobs? Or will

they fail, and hate it?

Messenger: A person who delivers other's messages.

Pipeworker: A pipeworker is a person who works under ground, to fix leaks and things in the pipes under ground.
